Creative Musings: Unconditional Love

This is season 7, episode 7 of the Legends Podcast with Sarah Furuya of Sarah Furuya Creative.

This week's creative musings is all about Unconditional Love.

Today I muse on five stories of unconditional love that I have experienced since I was a child, covering generosity experienced at school, to a shocking surprise gift at Christmas to unbelievable gestures in Japan, two from my love.

Have you ever had someone do something so loving and surprising that everything else fell away and you were cocooned by confidence and felt love well up inside you? Perhaps you were raised in an environment like that. I am lucky enough to have been on the receiving end of this kind of thoughtful and surprising love on a number of magical occasions. I want to share these stories.

Let me give you an example. At the weekend my solo-parent friend was here and my husband made coffee and got her daughter to bring it to her in bed. She was delighted. Her reaction was so sweet - it was the highlight of her weekend. The gesture was thoughtful, tender and transformative. Yes really. It’s specific kind of love and care that allows that to be given and received.

I relate this to attachment styles and how I'm trying to develop and enhance my secure attachments style. Remember these are musings on my part! I'm not an educator on such matters but do enjoy recognising patterns and sharing stories. These vocal essays are a treat to perform and my highest dream is that a little positivity will be felt as they spread into the ether. As usual, my amazing mind pinballs between topics, picking up patterns and threading golden threads through life, generations and topics, musing endlessly. And of course, the usual dose of self-coaching and mini-satori that occur when my stories are given voice. Enjoy and thank you for all the things you do for people that help them grow secure attachment and unconditional love and spread that out into the ether. I wish you peace. I wish for peace.

REMINDER - these recordings are MUSINGS. Storytelling, remembering and relating that to coaching and psychology. It’s creative, fun, informative and generative. My major wish for these stories is expression and stories shared.

This is not the everyday magic, the little messages, the tiny gestures, the loving presence of people, the wee ways people notice you. I’m talking big bold statements of love; grand gestures that rock your self-doubt and give you a moment of complete confidence in everything.

In this Podcast you will learn:

  • Attachment styles and how they are cultivated and how they are expressed

  • What it feels like to be completely, unconditionally loved

  • Why I think maybe the Catholics were onto something…

  • How to plan a major surprise for someone or lift their spirits into a new dimension!
