Monday Morning Meditation
Join us for a weekly Poetic Lectio Divina guided by Sarah and Gretchen of Lighthouse Circle. With roots based in Catholic mysticism meaning ‘sacred reading’, we are reimagining the practice with poetry for a secular and holistic approach to dropping into a contemplative state of mind.
We will read a curated selection of poetry following the 4 steps of lectio (read), meditatio (meditate), oratio (prayer or reflection) and contemplatio (rest). This creates a pathway to presence without a need to achieve anything or perform. We let the words bypass our intellect and resonate on a deeper level opening up insights we may normally ignore.
Everyone is welcome to join our instalives or re-watch the recordings at your convenience.
Wild Geese by Mary Oliver
We encourage you to find a routine that supports this weekly Lectio Divina ritual. Sarah and Gretchen will alternate choosing and reading their favorite poems each week. We want to offer an alternative and inclusive way into meditation and reflection in our busy lives.

Lectio Divina (Latin for "Divine Reading") is an ancient Christian monastic practice of praying with scripture. Instead of studying the Bible for academic or analytical data, you read it slowly to listen for God and rest in His presence.
In our Lighthouse Lectio Divina we take this divine process and apply a secular reading - meditating on the art and sanctity of poetry, accessing our Essence and sitting in communion every Monday morning.
