Mega Clothing Swap Recap & A Huge Thank You!

Saturday June 8th 2019 marked our final swap at Oakwood. A huge thank you to Amy & Oakwood for hosting us the last three year and a big thank you also to our speakers who joined. This is not the end for the swaps and we will be sure to let you know when details are released about the next one. Read on to discover these faces supporting mind, art and the future.

What an afternoon! Over 160 women gathered. This event has grown into a wonderful community event, bringing together women from all over the world and Kanto together once a quarter. I’ve loved watching this community grow, friendships blossom and ideas being spread. We’ve had speakers that are the brightest lights on mindful consumption, sustainable living and cutting edge service. People who live with style and intention and who bring beauty and ideas to life. Who educate and spread great ideas. This season we were lucky enough to host Vickie Skorje Tell Japan lifeline director, supporting the mental health of Japan’s community through outreach and a telephone line for people who help and support for their mental wellness.  We also welcomed Alex Morrow from Turquoiseport who sells direct from source, beautiful home decor pieces and accessories to support local artisans in Asia. Victoria Close of Biku Designs who takes forgotten things like old kimono and turns them into jewelry. Finally, the one to watch. Melisa from Ciclomagazine.jp a fantastic online magazine about sustainability, earth news and mindful consumption. A one stop shop for finding what you need to support humanity on earth.

Thank you so very much to Amy Hanashiro for supporting the swaps these last three years. Looking forward to the next chapter of swaps! Watch this space and ensure you are on my mailing list at SarahFuruya.com to get all updates and news about where we are going next with the swaps.

And everyone got a bamboo straw from Bali that I bought at Green School Bali as their gift!
